About the area

Located in the vibey beachfront town of Quarteira - which is equidistant from Vale do Lobo & Vilamoura. For ideas and tips, head to our 'Exploring Quarteira' guide.

The penthouse has the beach directly in front of the property. The location is great for people who enjoy walking and not relying on a car, as numerous facilities are within walking distance making it a super easy beach holiday.

Oceanside Penthouse is arguably the best-located property for amazing views all the way up & down the coast and out to sea – you can even watch all the fishing boats head out to catch the fish that will shortly be for sale in the local fish market.

The penthouse is on the 4th floor and boasts 180-degree views of the ocean & beach from all the bedrooms & kitchen. All bedrooms have direct access to the balconies overlooking the beach & ocean.

Quarteira town caters to tourism & local population alike and boasts hundreds of restaurants, cafes, bars, boutique shops, pharmacies, beauty salons & massage and Intermarche supermarket. All of these are within walking distance. The best pastry shop in Quarteira, Beira Mar is just below the apartment. For the more adventurous, it is very easy walking distance to both Vilamoura and Vale do Lobo which has even more choices of great restaurants & facilities.

There are rental agencies in Quarteira where you can also hire bikes, paddle boards, canoes & scooters so you can explore more of the area if you want. In summer, there is also a little tourist train that takes you around the area and onwards to Vilamoura. On Wednesday the train also drops off at the gypsy market. There is also a daily fish & fruit market on the seafront. Also on Wednesday, there is a very large general market of locally produced fruit & vegetables and other interesting items including chickens & rabbits just a minute’s walk from the penthouse.

The long white sandy beach is perfect for lazing the day away - you can hire sunbeds & parasol for approx. €12 a day. Alternatively, you can set out your own umbrella and towels on the beach, take a picnic and relax for the day. The beach has lifeguards from June to the end of September.

If the sea is your thing - numerous boat tours depart from Vilamoura marina. If you fancy making a splash, make sure you visit Aquashow on the outskirts of Quarteira – the best water park in the Algarve!

You will find plenty of nightlife and in the summer many places have free music & entertainment. Look out for free exercise classes held in the plaza or just people-watch. Playing petanque, beach volleyball & football in the park & playing chess in the plaza are all popular pastimes. As well as strolling along (or just sitting and watching the world wander by) on the well maintained & easily accessible promenade.

For children there are several parks with play areas surrounded by parkland & cafes – mum & dad can relax while the kids make new friends and maybe even pick up a bit of the Portuguese!

About the property

Oceanside Penthouse is in a private apartment complex the location of which, absolutely on the beach, truly is a dream. The property has two balconies: one that wraps around the entire living area, kitchen and bedroom 1. There is an outdoor shower on the main balcony and also a BBQ at the end of the terrace, so you can enjoy delicious food as you admire the view. The second balcony is off bedrooms 2 & 3 and has two sun beds, a table & two chairs. From every bedroom, you can wake up to the sounds of the surf and admire the endless ocean & the best views of the sunset every day.

The living areas of Oceanside Penthouse are all on one level of the 4th floor of the apartment block and accessed by an elevator (or staircase). Enjoy the view from the living room, where there is a picture window looking west and there are two sets of patio doors opening out onto the sun room where there are an additional 2 patio doors to access the balcony area all of which face south.

The fully ducted air-conditioned living room has stylish décor & modern artwork with a comfortable sofa with a chaise & an armchair for snoozing or wistfully looking out to the ocean. There is a dining area seating 6. The property also boasts a sunroom that is drenched in sunshine all day long. The sunroom has an additional dining table seating for 4 & two convertible sofas/day beds that can be used with the table too.

The kitchen is equipped with an American fridge/freezer with ice & water dispenser, hob, oven, cooking utensils, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine. There is a bar table & stools which give an elevated position to look out over the ocean. The kitchen has ducted air conditioning. There are also laundry facilities including a washing machine and iron in one of the bathrooms.

Oceanside Penthouse has 3 bedrooms, all located across the same level. Bedroom 1 has a queen-size bed (180cms wide and 200cms long) that can also be separated into 2 single beds. Bedroom 2 has a double bed (140cms wide 200cms long). Bedroom 3 has a king bed 180cms wide & 200 cms long). All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes, patio doors leading to the balcony and electric shutters on the patio doors. Bedrooms 1 & 3 have air-con, while bedroom 2 has a room fan.

A car is not necessary if you intend to use the local facilities. Uber & taxi services are easily available. We can also recommend a private car hire and/or private transfer company if you want a personal taxi service for your holiday.

Rates are quoted in Euros with a guide Sterling value and payment can be made in either currency.

Changeover days vary from property to property. Please email us for more information. It is necessary to vacate the property by 10am on the last day. Access to the property is after 4pm on day of arrival.

Booking Notes

The quoted weekly rates includes maid service with a mid-week towel change. Stays of 14 nights or more include a mid-stay linen change. The rental includes preparation of the villa also cleaning on departure and air conditioning. All bed linen and towels are provided.

SandyBlue can provide many extras on request (charges apply) such as in villa catering, car hire and airport transfers etc. Please ask for more details.

Individual hire: Foldaway bed with linen and towels €125, baby travel cot (as provided by the manufacturer) & provision of foam mattress, linen and towels €90, high chair €30. Extra Maid service on request - €60 per 2 hour booking (this consists of either 1 maid for 2 hours or 2 maids for 1 hour).

Cancellation refunds:

  • Cancellation anytime from date of booking to 63 days before arrival date - loss of deposit
  • Cancellation 56-62 days before arrival date - 50% forfeit on the total value of the booking
  • Cancellation 42-55 days before arrival – 75% forfeit of the total value of the booking
  • Cancellation 15-41 days before arrival – 95% forfeit of the total value of the booking
  • Cancellation between 0 and 14 days before arrival – 100% of the value of the booking is forfeited
  • Please note that we do not accept groups of young/unrelated adults, animals or pets.
  • Only registered guests for the reservation may occupy the property at any time.
  • No events or parties can be held at any property unless authorised prior with written consent from SandyBlue.
  • All properties are non smoking.

For all rentals, a securing deposit must be paid at the time of booking. This is 25% of the total booking value. All such deposits are non-refundable. The final balance is to be paid 12 weeks before arrival.

Accidental Damage Cover (ADC, Non-Refundable)

Oceanside Penthouse is covered for accidental damage by a non-refundable charge of €42 per week, which will be added to your confirmation invoice. This covers you for accidental damage to the property during your occupation up to the value of €200 per incident. This expressly excludes damage caused through negligence and / or vandalism.

If there has been any accidental damage to the property that exceeds the value of €200, you will be notified by email within 10 days of your leaving date and we will discount the amount above €200 from your refundable security deposit. However, if SandyBlue believes that this damage was caused by negligence and/or vandalism, ADC will not apply and the full cost of any repairs or replacements will be deducted from the refundable security deposit.

In the event of any damage, we ask that you notify us immediately regardless of value.

This does not cover lost house keys which will be immediately charged if lost.

Security Deposit (Refundable)

In addition to the ‘Accidental Damage Cover’, Oceanside Penthouse is also subject to a refundable ‘Security Deposit’. This is a fixed amount of €800 and is payable at least 4 weeks prior to arrival date.

Any damage caused to the property must be reported immediately and any damage cost will be deducted from your security deposit. Your ‘Accidental Damage Cover’ will cover the first €200 of any single incident.

Following your departure, the Property Management Team will inspect the property and you will be informed within 10 days of any issues identified. If no issues are detected, your security deposit will be returned in full within 14 days.
