IT Support / Systems Administrator

SandyBlue is the leading ‘villa rental’ specialist in the Algarve focusing on luxury properties in the Golden Triangle. From its launch in 2008, it has grown to provide hundreds of holidays each year to European visitors.

We are excited to be searching for an “IT Support and Systems Admin” person to help service the needs of our growing team as the business grows and becomes more demanding.

About the Role:

As our “IT Support and Systems Admin”, you will work closely with the CTO and your main focus will be to assist the team with any and all tech and systems related issues as they arise. You will become our in-house expert on how everything works from laptops, phones, printers and the systems we use to maintain efficiency and ensure best-practice methods at all times.

The core aspects of your new role are:

  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance and upkeep of the growing team’s tech
  • Help manage the installation of computers, mobile and phone systems and remote working devices
  • Liaise with SandyBlue’s IT supplier(s)
  • Control the IT inventory, track the users and control stock
  • Document and maintain all the current processes/procedures
  • Identify challenges in the existing systems and implement improvements
  • Troubleshoot problems and deal with disaster recovery

About you

As our in house “Geek”, you enjoy a challenge, are a creative thinker and are keen to help the team remain efficient. You understand that not everyone has the same technical experience you do and are happy to help when needed.

You will do well if you have:

  • Experience setting up a wide range of different technical equipment either professionally or personally. A good “tech brain”
  • Excellent motivation to always provide solutions at the highest level possible
  • A “can do” attitude when presented with a challenge 
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English with highly effective oral and written communication skills - other languages beneficial 
  • Capable of prioritising, multi-tasking, and handling high work volume effectively 
  • Excellent attention to detail and a deep understanding of the importance of easy to use solutions
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while maintaining exemplary standards under pressure
  • Demonstrate patience, a highly professional attitude and personal presentation in all verbal and written communications

Bonus skills:

  • A good, proven understanding of HTML, Javascript/jQuery, CSS & PHP
  • Basic but solid web and email design skills
