The January Rush – Why Early Planning Pays Off
Looking back at 2025, 59% of August bookings were made in the first quarter of the year, with 13% in January alone. But the real story isn't in the overall number…it's in which properties book first.
63% of villas priced at €12k or above had already been booked up by March, while apartments averaged 45%. Want to know the real difference between villas and apartments? Villas book 18% faster. Why? Some weeks in August are hotter than others. Our 2025 data shows:
- August 16–23: HIGHEST demand — 48 families booked last year, and 60% of this week is already gone as of mid-January 2026
- August 2–9 & August 9–16: HIGH demand
- August 23–30: Better availability
Of course, late July is also a popular time as schools in the UK close for the summer. If your dates are flexible, the last week of August offers more choice, but the middle weeks are the ones everyone wants.
The Cost of Waiting
The numbers tell the story better than words:
- Book in January and you’ll have access to 100+ properties, 60% of August available, and villas of all sizes (2–12 guests). You’ll also have access to flight deals and have longer to plan all the activities, the restaurants and so much more
- Book in July and you’ll be limited to roughly 15 properties, mostly smaller villas or apartments, and prices are higher. It will also mean last-minute flight expenses, while local activities will be booked up
